Improving your indoor and outdoor environment

Jerry Steele broke into the flooring business in 1983 by selling carpet remnants from his yard. Steele has always been guided by environmental principles and in 1984, he opened a 6,000-square foot showroom under the name The Carpet Line. In 2007, the company changed its name to Go Green Flooring to better reflect the many flooring options they offer outside of carpet, as well as their eco-friendly focus. Much has changed in the flooring industry since 1984. The nineties saw a shifting focus to sustainable building practices with the establishment of the US Green Building Council and the Forest Stewardship Council, which emphasized the need to provide hardwoods for homes without compromising the world’s forests. Along with these large-scale changes has come a shift in the consumer mindset: people have become far more wary of the chemicals that some flooring options can bring into their homes, says Brenda Steele.

Why should you choose us?

Innovative products have emerged that include carpets made from recycled plastic bottles and corn, biodegradable wool carpets, recycled content wall and floor tile, recycled glass tile, recycled content countertops, all-natural linoleum made from linseed oil and wood flour, as well as eco-hardwoods, bamboo, and reclaimed hardwoods with no added formaldehyde. Go Green Flooring offers a variety of these alternative options to help builders and individuals avoid the dangers of traditional flooring products. “There are several sustainable flooring options that can minimize indoor air pollution and mitigate health problems caused by toxic fibers and flooring materials,” says Steele. “Today’s consumer can choose from a rapidly growing line of carpets and flooring made from recycled and eco-friendly materials that are durable, stylish, and often less expensive than conventional flooring. These sustainable options provide a responsible and healthy way to enhance your home.” One of the most affordable and sustainable flooring options on today’s market is wool carpet and pad, which can even act as a filtration system for your indoor air quality.

Eco-friendly

“100% wool carpet is a forerunner in Go Green’s most affordable flooring options, and one of the most eco-friendly,” Steele says. Go Green Flooring has been a proud and engaged member of the Boulder community for 33 years. The company has won two “Best of Boulder” awards and received a Daily Camera People’s Choice Award for best green products and services store in 2016. “We have formed longstanding and trusted relationships with our customers,” Steele says. ”We strive to continually educate ourselves on innovative flooring products and provide the correct information for shoppers when they are looking for eco-friendly options in flooring.” Go Green’s knowledgeable staff are available to help homeowners, builders, and designers make educated flooring choices. An experienced, no-pressure sales team provides exceptional customer service, and the company’s professional installers have extensive experience working with the array of products offered at Go Green Flooring, such as carpet, hardwood, bamboo, cork, luxury vinyl, and tile. Go Green Flooring is available for help with any and all of your flooring projects!
